a modern prayer
Our Dear OneWho exists in all Dimensions
Sacred be Your Nameand Sacred be our Awarenessof Your Wonderful Presence
May a time comewith fairness and kindness for allhere on Your small Earthas You have shown us in the lives and actionsof Your Prophets, Poets, and Saints
May all death and destructioncome from You and only from You
For death and destruction by the causes and chanceof the natural world and of our own natural selvesis sacred and a part of our existence in You
But planned death and destruction of humans by humansdestroys our common spirit and moves us away from Youand all we are meant to be
Give us on this daythe sustenance and care we need to thrive
Forgive us this dayour selfishness and our greedand forgive us our willful unintelligenceand our failure to notice the truthwhich always surrounds us
Teach us to see and to forgive ourselvesand in doing so, to be able to see and to forgiveall others
Forgive us our debts and our wasted timeas we forgive the debts and the wasted time of others
Help us not be self absorbedand blind to the needs of others
But deliver us from hate, from angerand from indifference
Help us always see the Other as YouAs our own Hearts and SoulsAs Divine in your Creation
Oh wonderful Onemay our thoughts and our actionscreate Peace and Justice
And may the Light we sharealways lead us to Kindness
Forever and forever
Amen
